Friendship Mini Camps Theresa Couture is a Clinical Marriage, Family & Child Therapist at Responsive Centers for Psychology

and Learning in Overland Park, Kansas. She has run social skills groups for the past 18 years in schools and in her private practice. This summer she is offering a series of mini camps for elementary & middle school aged kids. Students will learn skills to improve social interaction with peers. They will learn to navigate difficult social interactions, build self confidence and resiliency. Groups will be arranged based on student age and gender. Students practice skills learned through role play vignettes developed by peers. The role plays are videotaped and reviewed so students can see how their interactions may be impacting their friendships. Students are inspired when they see themselves on video, positively handling a difficult social situation. Unfortunately, educational groups are not covered by insurance.
