Ferndale, Michigan Dear Friends, Each year the City of Ferndale observes Memorial Day with a parade and appropriate services at the "Boulder". Tile parade is, without
one of the best. However, the present location of the 1 Boulder 1 is not desirable for Memorial services. The Ferndv.le Memorial Association is sponsoring the development of A Memorial Park to be located on Livernois Avenue between Troy and Albany Avenues. Plans for the work have been approved by the City Commission and the City Planning Commission. The "Boulder" will be moved to the new site and a new marker (picture enclosed) honoring all who have served in the armed forces has been ordered. The estimated maximum cost of the project is $5,000.00 of which $1,000.00 hss already been donated. To secure the balance of the funds needed, a drive for donations will start 1st and continue throughout the month. we ask you help in raising this money by making a contribution as a group and by encouraging the members of your organization to make individual donations. 'Ne hope that every family in Ferndale will help with this worthy project. Speakers are avdlable, if desired, to explain the jblans to your group.
