UniKL MESTECH Hosts a Public Lecture by Dr.

Ben Forbes from Kings College London

UniKL MESTECH in collaboration with UniKL International Office (UIO) successfully organized a public lecture by Dr. Benjamin Forbes from Kings College London on the 29th of March 2012. Entitled Studies in Pharmacy: Applied Science, Dr. Ben focused the lecture on possible areas of research and postgraduate opportunities offered at Kings College London. Dr. Ben, who is a Reader in Pharmaceutics from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Kings College London has been actively involved in drug delivery research and has published numerous scientific articles especially on inhaled medication. One of the more recent article than Dr. Ben published is entitled Challenges in Inhaled Product Development and Opportunities for Open Innovation in the journal Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews. Having supervised many post-graduate students, both local and international students, Dr. Ben addressed issues on the pharmaceutical crisis and potential areas of research to embark on post-graduate level. The public lecture which was attended by more than 100 students and lecturers drew a lot of interesting questions from the audience. Dr. Ben admitted after the lecture that he was overwhelmed by the audience and was happy with the response he received by the students and lecturers alike. It is hoped that this public lecture would offer invaluable insights to the students who plan to pursue post-graduate studies and open doors for future collaboration between UniKL and Kings College London. Also present at the event was the Head of Campus and Dean of UniKL MESTECH, Prof. Dr. Rahim Md Noah, Deputy Director of UniKL International Office, Mrs. Nor Zunaini Abdul Kadir and the Head of Section for Clinical Laboratory Science, Mr. Izuddin Fahmy Abu.
