Challenge One: Program the BOE-BOT to travel three feet forward , make a ninety-degree right turn, travel three

feet, make another a ninety-degree right turn, travel an additional three feet, and stop (essentially making a U-turn). Challenge Two: Program the BOE-BOT to travel until it detects an obstacle, then back up, complete a 180-degree turn, travel three feet in the opposite direction, and stop. We used the whiskers and corresponding wiring to complete this challenge.
Introduction The BOE-BOT Project is designed to teach students about autonomous vehicles in space. In this project, we learned how to program a robot to perform several different tasks according to the challenges we were given. We took notes in our engineering journals from the instruction manual and assembled the BOE-BOT. We then worked on completing each challenge using the knowledge gained from every chapter.

Challenge Three: Program the BOE-BOT to follow a pattern traced out in black tape on the floor. We used photoresistors with corresponding wiring.

Challenge Four: Program the BOE-BOT to travel through an obstacle course, avoiding objects that it detects. We used infrared (IR) detectors, optical filters, and corresponding wiring.

Conclusion This project allowed us to learn more about constructing and programming robots to meet particular requirements. The most difficult aspect of meeting the challenges was programming the BOE-BOT to perform without error. We followed the design process, particularly testing and evaluating the design as well as making necessary adjustments. We also learned that communication with your team is essential to the success of the project. Overall, the project gave us experience with the design process and autonomous vehicles.
