Our Easter Outlook
During World War II, when the Blitz was at its worst in London, theologian Leslie Weatherhead said there had been no loss of life among the Christians there. Many Christians had been killed in London, but there was no loss of life. People who believe in the risen Lord have true life in him, no matter their earthly trials and circumstances. Because God raised his Son from the dead, Christians are assured of immortality in Christ. Eternal life is ours, thanks to the empty tomb. Deacon of the Week: Robert Lane 434.385.5977

Many times we are asked, Who is my deacon? To help you, we will list the Deacon of the Week and his list of families in the WLBC Bulletin ENewsletter. There will be a complete list posted on the bulletin board near the church office. This complete list is alphabetical by your last name. We hope this will help you know who your deacon is for the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.

One was the following: Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. Which book contains that quote? A. Psalms; B. Jeremiah; C. 2 Kings; D. Proverbs (See chapter 31, verses 8-9.)

A Sunday school teacher was telling the story of the Good Samaritan. In graphic detail she described how the assaulted man was left helpless beside the road. Then she asked the class, "If you came upon a wounded man lying by the road and he had blood all over him, what would you do?" A dainty girl spoke first, "I think," she said with a wince, "that I'd probably throw up."
