Where on earth can you find the most meteorites? How cold was the coldest temperature ever recorded? Youth interested in these and other questions related to climate change and global warming are invited to participate in the hands-on workshop - Antarctica's Climate Secrets: Hot Topics in Cool Science. Aimed at youth, the workshop is free and will take place on April 12 at the Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale from 4:00- 6:30 p.m. Participants in the workshop will learn about how we know what we know about climate change. The workshop leader is Louise Huffman, the ANDRILL Coordinator of Education and Public Outreach (ANtarctic DRILLing) located at the University of Nebraska. Louise received her bachelors degree in elementary education and special education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and has 30 years of experience working with educators in formal and informal education in science and environmental education. This workshop is just one of over twenty events that will take place in the month of April throughout southern Illinois as well as on the SIU campus.
