The foundations of Philips were laid in 1891 when Anton and Gerard Philips established Philips & Co. in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The company begun manufacturing carbon-filament lamps and by the turn of the century, had become one of the largest producers in Europe. In 2008, the total estimated value of Philips brand increased by 8% to USD 8.3 billion and was ranked the 43rd most valuable brand in Inter brands 2008 ranking of best global brands.
Philip' partnership with the Filipino people dates back to 1920 when it first established its business of selling lighting products and short wave radio sets in the local market. The launch of our brand promise - sense and simplicity - in 2004 was an important milestone in our brand journey.
