GREEK MYTHOLOGY

ADDED CREDIT – 5 POINTS

Mythology is the way the Greeks explained what they could not explain. They developed an elaborate
family relationships. Draw a family tree showing Zeus’ family. Make sure you include what each family
member had control over some part of human life. You might want to use the following web site:

When you complete this you might want to earn two more credits by completing the crossword puzzle
attached.

Ancient Greece

The Greek civilization was considered one of the most advanced cultures in human history. It flourished
more than 2500 years ago. Not only did the Romans borrow many of the things the Greeks created (ideas,
architecture, government, etc.), but we (Americans) can also trace many of our key ideas back to the Greeks.
Use the Web site shown below and compare and contrast Greek culture to American culture. However, you
may only choose 2 from the list for added credit
For each one you choose you must 1st create a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting the Greeks to us.
Then, you must write a 2 paragraph essay using the material you have on your Venn diagram. The Venn
diagram will be worth 1 point; the paragraphs will be worth 4 points. The 1st paragraph must be the
different characteristics of the Greeks; the 2nd paragraph must be the different characteristics of Americans;
the 3rd paragraph must be the similarities between Greeks and Americans. Each paragraph can as few as
three sentences.
