Statistics of Sweden/U.S.

Sweden: Steps toward cashless economy: -Companies, stores, and business' start to not take cash and coin and only accept credit card and other forms of plastic payment(if stores don't take cash people would be forced to move away from it). -People stop carrying and using cash because eventually no one would accept it. -Eventually cash and coin would be able to stop being minted because of the lack of use for it. (This would all have to be taken slowly to allow people to find comfort in the new life style).

United States: -Seven percent of their economy is cash. -While Sweden is decreasing in bank robberies, the United States has increased to 1645 from 1609(also take in mind the U.S. is bigger than Sweden which is why they have so many more robberies). - An average of $9,386 is taken in each bank robbery, and $302,558 in "armored car robberies." -There is approximately 400,000 robberies(not just bank robberies) each year.
Definition of robbery: The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines robbery as the taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and/or by putting the victim in fear.

-Three percent of their

economy is cash. -In 2008 had 110 bank robberies, and had only 16 in 2011 when they started moving to the cashless economy. -Crime statistics going down. -Sadly, fraud has increased to 20,000 in 2011 from 3,304(although this could possibly not be because of their cashless economy because of the 11 year difference).
