Contact: Vincent A. Torres (505) 476-2250 vincent.torres@state.nm.us FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 18, 2012 LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR SANCHEZ TO PARTICIPATE IN EVERY 15 MINUTES PROGRAM IN ALAMOGORDO ALAMOGORDO Lieutenant Governor John Sanchez will be in Alamogordo on Friday, April 20 to address the student and parent participants of the Every 15 Minutes Program. The Every 15 Minutes Program is an emotionally charged presentation that simulates the dangers of drinking alcohol and texting while driving. Over the course of two days, local volunteers and emergency personnel will enact the death of an actual student every 15 minutes. Demonstrations will include a simulated traffic collision; a visit to the hospital emergency room; a visit to the funeral home; and a trip to the local sheriffs office. This will be the second opportunity Lieutenant Governor Sanchez has had to participate in the Every 15 Minutes Program. Last year, I had the privilege of addressing participants of the program in Roswell, said Lieutenant Governor Sanchez, and I look forward to continuing these efforts to provide awareness and education for our youth statewide. The program assembly is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning at the Academy del Sol High School Gymnasium. Lieutenant Governor Sanchez will address the participants at approximately 10:00 a.m. For more information on the Every 15 Minutes Program, please visit www.every15minutes.com. ###
