Voltaire

The Philosophe
Voltaire's influence in the culture of the science and philosophy of his age was incalculably great. Perhaps his most lasting and original intellectual contribution was made in the field of history. His works as the royal histographer at the court of Louis XV are still incredibly valuable today. He wanted all the laws of the various French provinces to be unified and brought into a general harmony. He was hostile towards capital punishment. Argued against the Calas case as an unjust trail, with persecutors instead of judges. He was also an emphatic critic of religious intolerance and persecution. He believed that different religions could contribute to the knowledge of the human being. Thanks to his works against intolerance persecutions in France ended in 1787. Religious persecutions for me arent acceptable, each one of use should have the right to worship whichever god they choose to worship. Freedom of speech and hatred for censorship. He believed that everyone had the right to say what they believed in. This idea is also present in the American constitution. I completely believe in the freedom that each and everyone of us has the right to speak. He did not believe in equality because everyone has to fight for their social position and knowledge. However, I dont believe in this motion because some people may not have the resources to improve. He is remembered as a crusader against tyranny and bigotry which he saw in the french government. In my opinion he was able to create righteous form of government.
