The harp and piano are rarely played together. Its not an age-old war, but rather the sign of the difficulty that composers have to marry the styles of these two wide-ranging, polyphonic instruments, with their many similarities and differences. To hear how they can be put together, you have to look to transcriptions of orchestral pieces

The concert will showcase some very different pieces, from John Williams (know for his film scores) to the Concierto de Aranjuez a masterpiece by Joaqun Rodrigo and some French music for good measure, with Claude Debussy.
