Spelling Assignments

All assignments are to be done in spiral notebooks. Notebooks will be collected every Tuesday, which is our test day. You will turn in 4 assignments each week.

Tuesday-Cut and glue your new words into your notebook. Then, you are to write the word and a definition in your own words. Wednesday- Write each word in a sentence. Spelling words should be underlined. Thursday and Friday-Free Choice Day Choose one activity per day. Please put your activity title on your page. --Word search-Create a word search and highlight/color your hidden words. --Spelling art -Use the whole sheet of paper and hide your spelling words throughout your artwork. --Spelling story-Use all of your spelling words to create a story. Your story must make sense. --Collage of letters- Cut letters or words out of magazines or newspapers to spell your words. Glue them in your book. --Poem- Write a poem that rhymes by using all of your spelling words. --Spelling Code- Create a code for the alphabet and write your spelling words using your code. You must have a key on your paper. --Syllables- Divide your words into syllables and write the number of syllables in that word. Ex. fab-u-lous= 3 syllables Saturday, Sunday and Monday- Study! Your test is on Tuesday!
