    Conditionals

    Type 0 conditional: -if + present simple - present simple -If you heat ice it turns to water. Type 1 conditional: -if + present simple, present continuous, present perfect, present perfect continuous - future simple -If you come to the party, well dance. Type 2 conditional: -if + past simple, past continuous - would -If you came to the party, we would dance. Type 3 conditional: -if + past perfect, past perfect continuous - would have V3 -If you had come to the party, we would have danced.

    Unreal present and past If + will - future (hajlandsg) If you will help me, I will do shopping. If + should (ha nehatntn) If Peter should call, tell me he do shopping. Unless /if not/ (hacsaknem) You will fail your exam, unless you study harder. Provided, suppose (feltve) Suppose the boss came now, what would you do? Suppose you had lost all your money, what would you have done? Its time (ideje) Its time they did the homework. As if (mintha) Jim behaves as if he were the boss. He acted as if he had known her for years.

    Wishes Wish + past simple, past continuous I wish I had a lot of money. Wish + past perfect I wish I had got a car for my birthday. Wish + would I wish it would stop raining.

    Had better/ Would rather

    Had better + bare inf. - You had better not light the cigarette. Would rather + bare inf. I would rather stay at home tonight. I would rather have gone to Italy last year. Would rather + subject + bare inf. I would rather you did the shopping. I would rather you hadnt spent all your moey yesterday.

    Preference Prefer + gerund + to + gerund I prefer jogging to swimming. Prefer + noun + to + noun I prefer tea to coffee. Prefer + to do + rather than + do I prefer to walk rather than run. Would prefer + to do + rather than + do Id prefer to pay in cash rather than pay by credit card. Would rather + do + than + do Shed rather have a salad than have a steak.
