Alligators

Alligators are oviparous lay eggs

It takes nine weeks for an alligator egg to hatch.

Alligators are carnivores they eat meat.

They have huge, powerful jaws and lots of sharp teeth for grasping their prey.

Alligators are reptiles. Reptiles are cold blooded animals.


They control their body temperature by moving to a colder or warmer place

They spend half of their time in water. When they swim only their eyes and nostrils are above the water.

Alligators can live for up to sixty years and can grow to be almost twenty feet long.
