English Topic: In the Kitchen Cooking in the Classroom Group Members: Hannah Liss, Adam Penney, Iesha Burns, and Maggie Davis Linguistic Students learn cooking-related vocabulary and create recipes. Students use persuasive writing to create menus.
Students work on equations, economics, mathematical problems and conversions. Students also compare serving sizes and healthy portions.
Spatial
Students use cookbooks, charts, tables, diagrams, and pictures to convey information.
Students create actual dishes for consumption, act out performance roles, work with utensils and materials, and participate in demonstrations.
Musical
Students listen to commercials for voice, tone, intonation and how music affects advertisements. Students listen to music video summarizing atoms and molecules. Students participate in small groups and class discussion. Students will work individually on handouts and in-class creative writing. Students will go outdoors and learn to cook in-nature without modern appliances or resources.
