Matchbox

Step Outline INT. Birthday Party The cake proudly presents itself, making itself to be in the centre of attention A matchbox that lays few inches away gets irritated by the cake, and decides to show everyone that its as important as the cake When the cake expects the matchbox to light up its candles, the matchbox refuses to do so . The cake tries everything to make the matchbox to cooperate with it but the matchbox plays childish games on it by lighting up the candles and then blowing them out. The cake gets very irritated and tries to make the matchbox to light up its candles but the matchbox closes itself not letting any matches out. Cake finally gives up and slowly walks away defeated. At first the matchbox feels proud of itself but then realizes that it has done no good, and ruined someones birthday. Matchbox decides to fix its mistake. It runs after the cake and light ups the candles making everyone happy.

Script: The Petulant Matchbox INT. Birthday Party- Day Fade into a birthday cake, beautifully decorated standing proudly on the table. Cheering up and laughing noises are heard in the background. Pan onto the matchbox laying in the corner, the matchbox looks at the cake and then at itself. Matchbox gets annoyed. The cake walks up to the matchbox and shows a gesture for the matchbox to light up its candles. Matchbox refuses to do so and starts to be sulky. The cake tries to convince the matchbox to light up its candles, but the matchbox starts to play a childish game with it by lighting up the candle and then blowing it out. The matchbox blows its tongue out to annoy the cake. The cake gets irritated by silly games and tries to make the matchbox do its job, but the box closes and wont let any matches out.

Cake gets upset, gives up and slowly walks away. The Matchbox is proud of itself. The room is silent there is a heavy atmosphere in the air. Matchbox looks up at the sad cake. Matchbox gets the moment of realization that it hasnt done any good, but ruined someones birthday. Matchbox runes up to the cake and lights up all the candles. The birthday song is heard in the background.
