A RESOLUTION

Recognizing A-Town Day and commending its sponsors; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, history was made on March 24, 2007 at Morris Brown´s
Herndon Stadium with the first annual A-Town Day; and
WHEREAS, this spectacular event benefiting Children´s Healthcare of
Atlanta, the Tupac Armaru Shakur Center for Performing Arts, and the
Atlanta Braves Foundation is the largest outdoor community, health,
outreach, concert, and awareness festival in the City of Atlanta; and
WHEREAS, delivering positive information in a positive atmosphere is the
purpose of A-Town Day, which provides a day designed for the entire
family to celebrate the City of Atlanta in an uplifting way that makes a
difference in the lives of all who participate; and
WHEREAS, the second annual A-Town Day to be held on March 22, 2008,
at Turner Field is made possible by its many sponsors who recognize the
importance of this inspirational activity as a way of not only educating and
motivating the citizens of the City of Atlanta and surrounding areas but also
benefiting countless individuals who will be helped by the money that is
raised on behalf of Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Tupac Armaru
Shakur Center for Performing Arts, and the Atlanta Braves Foundation;
and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that this body join in recognizing this
monumental event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join together in
recognizing A-Town Day as a positive event for the City of Atlanta and the
State of Georgia and commend its sponsors for their support of such an
inspired, informative, and family oriented festival.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy
of this resolution to the organizers of A-Town Day.
