What are you talking about?


There are some English phonemes that foreing leraners often use incorrectly. Polishing this aspect of our learning process is critical, since it might not just help us be more accepted among native speakers, but also reduce the ambiguity of what we say. In this presentation, we will go over some often misunderstood and misused phonemes:

// and /i/
//: Near-close near-front unrounded vowel /i/: Close front unrounded vowel

It is really important to know the difference betwee these two, since

using the wrong phoneme might produce a quite different word. Like in these examples:

/it/ = sheet & /t/ = Do not need me to write it! /fit/ = feet & /ft/= fit /bit/ = beat & /bt/= bit /j.hv.t.fit.n.hr/ = I have two feet in here. /j.hv.t.ft.n.hr/= I have to fit in here.
