INTRODUCTION

An RFID consists of an Antenna and Transceivers which Read the Radio Frequency and Transform the information to transponder (Tag). And Processing device. Which is containing RF circuitry and information to be transmitted.

Tag is a transponder which receive a Radio signal and in response to it send out a Radio signal. Tags contain an Antenna, and small chip that stores amount of data.

Tag can be a Program at manufacture or on installation

Tag is powered by the high powered electromagnetic field generated by the antenna.

Power by battery (life 5-8 years) Can be read from a long-range distance of more than 100 feet.

PASSIVE TAGS

No internal battery Powered by the signal strength emitted by the reader. Can be read from a long-range distance of approximately 510 feet

Readers
An RFID Reader is an device that is used to interrogate a RFID tag. The Reader has an antenna, that emits radio waves . Reader has two basic componentsA scanning antenna A transceiver with a decoder to interpret the data.
