In 1943 Parks became an important part of the civil rights movement. Parks was elected special secretary to president Gear Nixon. Known for the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

With the help of 20,000 plus voters the city first black policeman were hired and persuade John Dobbs. It was an very small win for the black policeman as they were not allowed to carry guns and only assign to black parts of the city.
