SPRING-SUMMER 2004

ALL HEART PAPER MACHE BOX Instructions by Kenyatta Thomas, OSCI

VOLUME 1, NUMBER 1, S/S 2004

MATERIALS
FA PAINTS:
WICKER WHITE SCHOOL BUS YELLOW THICKET NAPHOL CRIMSON BURNT UMBER

I double loaded wicker white and school bus yellow with a large spouncer to apply paint to inside and outside of paper mache box. Let dry. Wash out spouncer - or you can use a sponge - and apply naphol crimson to outer rim of box lid. Let dry. Take your #12 flat, double load with thicket and school bus yellow and apply stems using a quick sweeping motion. Let dry. Mix white and crimson (1:1) and randomly place hearts on top of stems. On this project, I used both my #12 and #8, to vary sizes of hearts. Let dry. Wash out brush, and fully load brush with naphol crimson. Once you have the consistency you like, touch a corner of your brush into the burnt umber. Go over pink hearts. Let dry. Last step!!! Apply onestroke leaves, double loading your #8 with thicket and school bus yellow. You can use picture of box top as guide. Let dry for 24 hrs

or until paint is completely dry/cured. I used Final Coat as my varnish, but any brush on or spray varnish will do.

Fill with candy or gift - and you have a sweet gift box.
