Collapsed due to weak columns

Collapsed due to weak columns

Shear failure of the column joint, Simeulue.

Collapsed Lasikin Airport Terminal Building, Simeulue.

Traditional house in Nias, not damaged.

CONCLUSION
The occurrence of inelastic action in structures during strong earthquakes is the main criteria in failure. In order to the avoid failure of structure, earthquake resistant construction practice should be done so that failure of structure is greatly reduced.
