McLAUGHLIN: LOWER-COST POWER WILL ACCELERATE PRIVATE SECTOR

McLaughlin applauds Recharge NY allocations, will lead to additional private sector jobs Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C-Melrose) today welcomed news from the New York Power Authority that the first round of lower-cost power allocations have been awarded to several Capital District businesses. The funding comes through Recharge NY, a statewide economic development program lowering energy costs for businesses and notfor-profit corporations. McLaughlin, the highest rated pro-jobs legislator in the state according to The Business Council of New York, extended congratulations to Energy Onix Broadcast Equipment Company, Sonoco Plastics, Air Liquide Industrial U.S. LP,Linde Merchant Production Inc, Oldcastle Precast and SABIC Innovative Plastics. These local businesses rely on the low-cost electricity provided by Recharge NY to create and maintain the good-paying jobs that our area counts on, said McLaughlin. With energy costs skyrocketing, state government must do everything in its power to ease this burden and help businesses keep New Yorkers employed. I commend our local jobcreators for leading the way on our economic recovery, and I hope this funding gives them the boost they need to continue creating jobs in the community. Assemblyman McLaughlin represents the 108th district, which consists of parts of Rensselaer, Albany, Greene, and Columbia counties.
