Aloha Keoneula Elementary School, Congratulations on winning 3rd place in the 5th Hawaiian Electric Home Energy Challenge! We would like to sincerely thank you for participating. We are proud of everyone who took such great efforts to conserve energy from October to March. Combined, all the families saved over $100,000 dollars in electricity! The Winning Schools Are: 1 Place, $10,000, Pearl Ridge Elementary, reducing 16.4% 2nd Place, $6,000, Kamiloiki Elementary, reducing 14.5% 3rd Place $3,000, Keoneula Elementary, reducing 12.2%

All the schools participating this year showed a reduction in their families energy use. Everyones energy savings is at an all-time high! The energy reduction for all the schools ranged from -5% to -16.4%. Energy Conservation Project Winners (Voluntary) Schools that made a concerted effort to create and document their energy conservation campaigns challenged each other to win $1,000 Energy Conservation Project prizes. The three winning schools are: Waikiki Elementary $1,000 Kamiloiki Elementary $1,000 Pearl Ridge Elementary $1,000 New Years Energy Resolution Drawing Contest (Voluntary) Schools wishing to participate in the drawing contest competed to receive a classroom workshop by Mad Science. The 4 winning schools were Kahaluu, Kamiloiki, Manana and Waikiki. Teaching children and their families about taking care of our environment by not wasting electricity is the main goal of the Home Energy Challenge. When good energyconserving practices become an every day habit, everyone wins. We applaud the principals, coordinators, and teachers for the effort and believe that through the schools involvement you impacted the students and taught them a lifelong lesson.
