The Sonnet silence, O Muse!

A poem for Luke and Sam, crossing the ocean By Santiago Sevilla

Let the storm attack us with its torment. Allow the sky to pour its roaring rain. The clouds on us let horrid dark descend, The peal of thunder aloud unhindered reign.

To cross the sea, our lives to fate we lent. The sun kissed us, the moon at night again, Gazing the stars, twinkling the time we spent. Remember happiness, forget all pain!

The isles gave us the juicy pamplemousse, The sea transparent, offered tasty fish. Poseidon and Aeolus signed a truce:

We see the waves throw froth profuse, And gentle wind blows the way we wish: Off we sail! The sonnet silence, O Muse!
