    COMMON INDEXING CHALLENGES


    What to do when household number entered in wrong column? Lines with words on them instead of census data (e.g. end of patients in the hospital) Marking images as blank even if there is some information on the top of the page (maybe 1 line), but nothing else. Aligning the highlights Reading ------------- as ditto or blank? Gender & Relationship agree index it? When to put a dash after Step = (e.g. step -daughter) use Lookup List.

    COMMON ARBITRATION CHALLENGES


    Cities/Counties spelled incorrectly ar to be fixed if you determine right spelling yet, getting marked as incorrect by arbitrator s if you spelled it correctly and not as enumerated

    Names
    arbitrators correcting spelling, even if not enumerated that way arbitrators seeing indexers doing the same correcting spellings even if not enumerated the same

    Residence in 1935

    R being arbitrated as Rural instead of R Same House/Same Place seeing indexers not mark other two fields as blank Person < 5? - Even if Same House/Same Place entered seeing indexers not marking all 3 fields blank; and vice versa
