Local Rules

1. Out of Bounds On or over the white line marking the boundary of the course. On or over the boundary fences, ditches and hedges surrounding the course. On or over the permanent burnt line on the following holes; back of the 1st tee, back of the 2nd green and on the left hand side of the 18th. The painted kerb stones on the right hand side of the 9th hole. The white painted kerbing back of the 10th tee and 15th green. 2. Hazards (Rule 26) All ponds and lakes marked by yellow stakes are water hazards. All ponds or ditches marked by red stakes are lateral water hazards. NOTE: Stakes or lines defining the margins of hazards are in the hazard. 3. Obstructions An obstruction is a movable obstruction if it may be moved without unreasonable effort, without unduly delaying play and without causing damage. Otherwise, it is an immovable obstruction. Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies. 4. Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24) Sprinkler heads, hydrant covers, tee markers, distance markers, fixed course furniture, seats, manhole covers, drain grates, drain pipes, stone drain paths, fixed signs, ball washers, litter bins, electricity pylons & poles, artificial hole covers on greens, artificial path surfaces, gravel & stone pathways, wooden steps, sleepers. Note: A ball striking ESB power cables must be replayed without penalty.

5. A ball lying on a tee box, other than that of the hole being played, must be dropped within one club length from the nearest point of relief, which must not be nearer the hole being played and not in a hazard

6. Ground Under Repair Areas surrounded by white lines and/or red and white stakes and marked GUR relief may be taken from GUR under Rule 25-1b New Tree plantations marked by GUR signs (see additional list of GUR on notice boards) 7. Distance Measuring Devices: The use of distance measuring devices is allowed for all play in club competitions. A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3 for which the penalty is disqualification

Winter Rules (Non-Qualifying Competitions) 1. A ball coming to rest on a fairway or in the rough may be lifted, cleaned and placed within six inches of original position not nearer the hole. A player may move his ball only once and after the ball has been moved or placed it is deemed to be in play 2.
