WHY IS PLAYING SO IMPORTANT IN CHILDS LIFE?

Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical and social well-being of children and youth.

FAMILIES PLAY EFFECTIVE ROLE IN CHILDS PLAY

PARENTS CAN SPEND THEIR FREE TIME WITH CHILDREN

For a child, however, there is no more constructive activity than play. Play allows a young child to be in charge. In their everyday lives, they're always being told what to do, and how to do it. Without an adult around, they're running the show! Play offers an ideal opportunity for parents to engage fully with their children. Despite the benefits derived from play for both children and parents, time for free play has been markedly reduced for some children. Although most highly scheduled children are thriving, some are reacting to the associated pressures with anxiety and other signs of increased stress. In this regard, highly scheduled children have less time for free, childdriven, creative play, which offers benefits that may be protective against the effects of pressure and stress. Parents should understand that in their childs hard schedule, a normal constructive playing can bring some relief or working on a hobby or art project, playing sports together, or being fully immersed in child-centered play. Parents can be encouraged to optimize conditions for some kind of play in the home. Here is a graph about parent and child relationship:

Play helps children learn about the world in which they live. They can investigate and discover, test their theories, spatial relationships, explore cause and effect, societal roles and family values.

Play builds social skills and builds selfesteem. Children will often play at something they know they can do well, at which they can be successful. So we can rightly say play is an integral part of learning.

Parents positive and natural relationships with their children can turn them into their childs friend.
