Project questions on organizational behavior

1. There are large numbers of organizations having excellent employees. However they lack in team effectiveness. What do you think are the major obstacles to teams functioning in Indian organizations? 2. Assume that you have taken over as a new supervisor of a company. Within few weeks of taking over you to come to know that one of your subordinates who is politically connected has been spreading malicious rumours about your capability and competence among other members of your department and in the organization. How would you tackle the situations? 3. What are your strengths and weaknesses as a leader? Assess yourself to identify the weaknesses that you would like to overcome to improve your effectiveness as a leader. 4. Who are your role models as leaders? What makes them leaders? What have you learnt from them? 5. Collect a situation related to an adamant employee who has posed a great challenge to the manager. After diagnosing the situation what methods would you use to motivate the employee? 6. Happy employees create happy customers. Explain why this statement might be true. Identify conditions in which it might not be true. 7. Under what conditions, if any, do you think it is appropriate to use e-mail to notify an employee that he or she has been laid off or fired? Why is e-mail usually considered an inappropriate channel to convey such information? 8. In general, what do you think students prefer an instructor who is more people oriented or task oriented? Explain your preferences along with reasons.
