Tricia Maybaum SPED 440- Objectives

Situation: Ashley is in the 6 grade. She is a good student, but has to be constantly reminded to get back to work. She starts to daydream or space out during her assignment. Some days she doesnt get her assignments done in class or written down for homework. As a result, she rarely turns in her work and is failing 3 classes. Objective: While in class, Ashley will write down her assignments in her assignment notebook within 2 minutes of receiving them, and will begin working on them within 4 minutes. Mastery will be considered when Ashley writes down and completes 100% of her assignments, either in class or at home, for 5 consecutive school days.

Situation: Tad is 15 years old. He has a hearing impairment and moderate mental retardation. He gets home from school about twenty minutes before his father arrives home from work. His parents say it would be great if Tad could make himself a snack when he gets home from school but dont feel it would be safe for him to use a microwave or stove unless an adult was with him.

Objective: When arriving home from school Tad will take out a piece of fruit, appropriately prepare it (by washing or opening it), and eat it for snack before his father arrives home. Mastery will be considered when he takes fruit 100% of the time, properly washes or opens it, and eats it before his father gets home five consecutive school days in a row.

Situation: Kerry is 8 years old and has been labeled as having developmental delays and cerebral palsy. He receives some special education and speech services while based in a general education second grade classroom. He usually wears a pull up to school because he has had occasional toileting accidentsgenerally these have occurred when he has waited too long to get permission to use the bathroom. Before beginning to wear a pull up during the day, Kerry had accidents once or twice per week at school. Kerry has become very embarrassed about the situation and his mother reports that he cries each day when he has to get dressed for school. Objective: In class, Kerry will raise his hand and ask to go to the bathroom every half hour, in addition to after snack and lunch. He will try to go to the bathroom every half hour and after snack and lunch to develop a consistent bathroom pattern. Mastery will be considered with Kerry goes five consecutive school days with 0 accidents.
