Simple Tense
Past Tense The Sentences showing us about past events happened and finished in the past. Present Tense The sentences showing us about the activities happened in the present / daily activities / routine activities. Future Tense The sentences showing us about the activities happened in the future / next time.

PAST TENSE
(+) S + V-2 + O The patient came to the hospital last night. (-) S + did not + V-1 + O The doctor did not give the prescription yesterday. (?) Did + S + V-1 + O ? Did the patient feel something ? No, she did not. (?) (WH-Question) + did + S + V-1 + O ? When did you change the infusion ? - I changed the infusion two hours ago.

TIME REFERENCE

Last: Last night, last week, last month, last year, last Monday, last Thursday. ago: one year ago, two months ago, three days ago, for weeks ago, five hours ago. Yesterday. The day before yesterday.

PRESENT TENSE
