LESSON PLAN Unit: Personal and Social Skills Targeted Learning Results: Cooperative Skills Age/grade level: 5th Grade Length of period: 40 minutes Number of students: 20+ Equipment needed: 1 scooter, 2 deck rings, 1 long jump rope Class Objectives: the student will demonstrate cooperative and inclusive skills while participating

in physical activities.
Time 5 mins 10 mins Activity Description Warm-Up: Running 2 laps then stretch muscles accordingly Explain to students that they are going stand behind one foul line with 1 scooter, 2 deck rings and 1 long jump rope. All the students need to get across the basketball court past the other foul line without touching the floor. If a student touches the floor, that student +1 needs to start over. Students being to cross the river. Help students get ideas started if needed, but try and let the students work as a team to accomplish the goal of crossing the river Conclusion/ Assessment: Ask students what they learned about teamwork and how they managed their conflicts. Was there a best strategy? Was there ideas that didnt work? Cues Running form.
