Take the right dose at the right time. Begin treatment right away.

Make sure that the FULL 3 days treatment is taken at the recommended times. Take the first dose immediately, the second dose 8 hours later. Take the remaining doses in the morning and again in the evening of days two and three, until the pack is finished. Coartem / Riamet must be given to patients together with the package leaflet for complete safety information. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for the package leaflet if you have not received one.

Taking Coartem/ Riamet to treat malaria. You must take it exactly as recommended for 3 full days, otherwise the infection may return.

Take each tablet with high-fat food or drinks (for example milk.) For small children, crush the tablet before giving it. If you are vomiting within 1 hour of taking Coartem /Riamet,repeat the dose and get additional tablets from your pharmacist.
