The document discusses driving a manual transmission car. It outlines the selector lever positions including neutral, 1st through 6th gears, and reverse. Neutral is in the center, and the gears are used to accelerate up to certain speeds ranging from 10-15 mph in 1st gear to 55+ mph in 6th gear. It also describes how to use the clutch, noting that the clutch pedal should always be fully pressed before starting, shifting, or stopping the car. Shifting should be smooth, and riders should not rest their foot on the clutch while driving as this can cause expensive wear and repairs.

Using the Clutch: Always press the clutch pedal to the floor before starting the vehicle, shifting or stopping. Shift smoothly from one gear to position to the next. The speeds given here for shifting are only guidelines. Read your owners manual to know the recommended shifting speeds for your vehicle. Do not develop the habit of riding the clutch. This means resting your foot on the clutch pedal while driving. This causes the clutch to wear out and can lead to expensive repairs.
