Foxs Kinder News

In the classroom
We are starting the last quarter of the school year and we are nearly ready for first grade. The year has just flown by! This months newsletter will cover March and April and upcoming details about our last quarter together. Parent/Teacher conferences this week and I encourage parents to attend. This is an important time to review your childs progress, and I look forward to sharing with you your childs growth over the last few months. Please join me on either Wednesday, March 28 or Thursday, March 29. Both days will be early release and conferences will begin immediately following dismissal. A sign-up sheet is posted on my classroom door for parents. We have much to cover in the upcoming weeks. We will be learning to identify our letter symbols with their sound, independently write 2-3 sentences, identify coins, count by 5s, write to 100, and study various animals as part of our unit on zoo animals. I am arranging a field trip to the zoo at the conclusion of our animal study. Beginning Monday, April 2, we will begin focusing on a different letter of the alphabet each day. Students will be asked to participate by bringing the ABC Bag to school with items representing the letter of the day. Look for more information to be sent home with instructions. Please assist your child in collecting the items and remembering to return the bag the next day.
