Setting up a conference

A conference allows many extensions to communicate centrally and simultaneously. To set up a conference in Elastix, Follow the following steps. 1. Point your browser to your Elastix web interface, log in. Click the PBX(a) tab and then Unembedded FreePBX(b).

2. Enter admin as the username and password when prompted. Now Scroll down and click on Conferences(a).

3. This is the page where you enter the details of the conference you want to create. The Fields of interest are conference number(a), conference name(b), user PIN(c) and admin PIN(d) Conference Number: This is the number users will have to dial to enter the conference. Conference Name: This field is used for identification purposes. Helpful if you have many conferences going at one time. User PIN: This is the PIN users will have to enter to be allowed into the conference. Admin PIN: This is a unique PIN for the conference administrator. The administrator has various special abilities and control over the conference. when finished, click on submit Changes(e).

As you can see, my conference is located on number 8000, users will need to dial 1234 to get in, while I will dial 9989 when prompted for the PIN. 4. Now Click the Orange Apply Configuration Changes Button at the top of the page

5. When prompted, click Continue with reload
