Mayor Mike Spano hosts this years Police Athletic League (PAL) Childrens Poster Contest Finals tonight, Monday, May 7, at 7PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The event completes the search for a Yonkers boy and girl to be featured on this years P.A.L. poster along with the 2012 Police Officers of the Year. Mayor Spano, Police Commissioner Charles Gardner, and other city officials will join P.A.L. Co-Chairmen James Vetrano and Michael Bennett along with contest judges Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore, Yonkers City Court Judge Michael Martinelli, Yonkers Florist President Paul Zachareas, and Tanya Tolbert and Eric Schoen from Yonkers Public Schools for the event. Tonight, the winners will be announced and will be P.A.L. representatives at future organization events throughout the year. All 12 finalists are children who live in Yonkers and are in the 5th or 6th grade of a Catholic or Public School in Yonkers. The P.A.L. Poster Contest, now in its 29th year, is a longstanding and unique tradition in the City of Yonkers.
