Professor Dr. David Mellor - Professor in Psychology at Deakin University and Associate Dean (International) in the Faculty of Health. Before becoming an academic in 1993 he was a clinical psychologist. He has published around 130 papers in international refereed journals, 11 book chapters and numerous conference proceedings. His research has spanned any areas of clinical and social psychology, but has also been cross-disciplinary in many cases through collaborations with social workers, psychiatrists, economists, nurses, etc.. Since 2006 he has worked with academics in Malaysia (UCSI), China, and Chile in a mentoring role to conduct research that has led to 25 publications.

Dr. Mellor has supervised many Honours students and Masters students, and graduated 15 Doctoral students since 2002. He currently supervises 9 doctoral students across a range of projects in clinical, health and forensic psychology. Additionally, he had many large research grants from the Australian research Council, the National Health and Medical Research Council, as well as government departments and smaller funding bodies.
