August 2011 May 2012 Connect2Mason.com, 4400 University Dr. Fairfax VA 22030 Managing Editor Connect2Mason is George Mason University's student media website, awarded the 2011 ACP Online Pacemaker in the Onlineonly section. As managing editor, some of my responsibilities included writing articles and linking to news stories, spreading news through social media and delegating writing assignments to student contributors.

At USA Today, I worked with the Correspondents team on a variety of national news reporting, editing, and social media engagement. Working with USA Today, I was able to gain experience writing and editing original content for the organizations print and online platforms. May August 2010 Townhall.com, Arlington, VA 22209 Editorial Intern I held a position helping to manage content for Townhalls magazine and online news mediums. Working alongside the company's editorial staff, I wrote articles for the monthly magazine, aggregated news content and posted Op-Eds to the website. September December 2009 The Daily Caller, Washington, DC. 20006 Intern At The Daily Caller, I worked closely with the staff on a variety projects prior to the organizations web launch in January 2009. I researched possible contributors, aggregated news articles and generated multimedia content.

Professional Development and Distinctions


Presented an undergraduate thesis on infographics titled, What is an infographic?: A Synthesis Approach to Interpretation of New Media, at 2012 GMU Undergraduate Research Symposium Attended course titled, Presenting Data and Information, taught by Edward Tufte, Professor Emeritus at Yale University. The course reflected upon strategies and practice of information design Connect2Mason.com was a 2011 ACP Online Pacemaker Winner, as awarded by Associated Collegiate Press Graduate of Computer-Assisted-Investigative-Reporting (CAIR) Boot Camp hosted at the National Press Club
