May 7th, 2012 Letter of Recommendation: Alexandria Sullens

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Alexandria Sullens. Alexandria has served as a prime example of the mathematics teachers that are produced here at Michigan State University. I had the privilege of observing Ms. Sullens teach ten times over the course of the 2011-2012 school year at Cass Tech High School in Detroit, MI. She has shown to me that she is very concerned about the education of those students in her charge. Not only is she concerned about what they learn mathematically, but also their well-being outside of school. Ms. Sullens understands the challenges that many of her students face on a daily basis. In return, her students showed her a great amount of respect and worked hard to produce quality work for her. Alexandria has all the tools to become an excellent educator. She is likable, her character is of the highest quality, and her 3.34 grade point average from one of the nations premier teacher preparation programs is evidence of her solid intellectual skills. I view her commitment to being an educator as above average and would expect her to be a positive influence in any school environment. Im sure that others who have worked with her along the way would make similar comments. I highly recommend Alexandria Sullens for any teaching position and feel that she will make a positive contribution in the classroom, among the faculty, and in the community. Feel free to contact me if you desire additional information.
