The Social Function of Descriptive Text is to describe a particular person, place, or thing. The descriptive text use simple present tense as we have learned in the previous post. Berarti Saya memiliki kucing yang bernama Pussy, dmn ini merupakan kenyataan bahwa kucing saya bernama Pussy, maka saya menggunakan simple present tense, jelas kan? Contoh kalimat simple present tense lain yang ditemukan dalam text di atas adalah: She is my beautiful gray Persian cat. She walks with pride and grace. She spends most of his time indoors watching television and growing fat. Dan semua kalimat memang menggunakan simple present tense. Ciri-ciri lain dari text jenis ini adalah, descriptive texts benar-benar mendeskripsikan benda yang specific. Seperti contoh di atas, mendeskripsikan tentang kucing yang bernama Pussy. Itu berarti kucing yang sudah spesifik, bukan sembarang kucing atau kucing pada umumnya. Itulah ciri-ciri paragraph descriptive text. Mudah bukan?
