COMMON WEEDS

Any types of unwanted plants grow in the major

crop field can be defined as weeds.

Some of the weeds give benefit such as fern at the stem because it can cool the plant. Some of the weeds doesnt give anything, like cow grass that can give competition to oil palm:-space -nutrient -sunlight

Weeds give competition to main crop when it interfere the absorption of nutrition in the main crop.

Weeds also can disturb the fruit picker task during

harvesting time by growing rapidly around the oil palm tree.

Weeds move by crawling to the tree and disturb the growth of new front.

LEGUMENOUS COVER CROP

PURPOSE:To cover the surface of topsoil and reduce the direct penetration of sunlight. To give moisture, reduce temperature and organic material degeneration. Acting as a compost after die. Supply nitrogen from environment to the plant. through root nodules. Reduce maintenance that can save cost.
