Machine-Gun Fun! The US Shooting Academy is currently hosting the filming for Outdoor Channels latest series RAPID FIRE.
Tulsa, OK, May 10, 2012: For the next two weeks, the US Shooting Academy, one of the nations preeminent firearms membership and training facilities, is all about full-auto, as Outdoor Channel's latest series, RAPID FIRE, takes shooting television to the next level. Hosted by ace USSA instructor Mike Seeklander and TOP SHOT winner Iain Harrison, RAPID FIRE is both an exploration into the history and use of machine guns, and a competition between two of the most talented shooters in America. The premise is simple full-auto weapons have been a part of warfare for a century and a half, and while the guns have clearly evolved, the question is, are today's guns actually better for the application for which they were designed! Each week Iain and Mike run a pair of machine guns one old; one new through a rigorous course of fire designed specifically for those two guns. But which shooter gets the old and which the new? That's decided by the challenge, with the two shooters facing an exotic weapons test to determine who gets to select their choice of full-auto blasters. The action is fast and furious, and the competition gets hotter each week! Machine gun experts Dave Saye and Kevin Brittingham will join Iain and Mike each week. By the end of RAPID FIRE's first season, viewers even viewers who've only "fired" full-auto weapons on a video screen will have a whole new appreciation of machine guns.
