Serj Tankian
Serj Tankian was born on August 21,
1967 in Beirut, Lebanon, but his parents were Armenians. He is best known as composer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and sometimes rhythm guitarist of the rock band system of a down. Also he is poet and political activist. At the age of seven he and his family moved to Los Angeles, started his studies and after years was accepted into California State University, Northridge. Here is where he began to play instruments and write songs.

Tankian was awarded the Armenian Prime Minister's Medal for his contributions to the recognition of the Armenian genocide and the advancement of music in 2011. Serj known Daron Malakian, who was co-producer of the band and started it with the name Soil with two more friends, and after they change the bands name to System of a Down, because of a Darons poem called Victims of a Down. And did their first Album called as the bands name. He is considered as one of the best singers of all the time, and he is on the 24 position of the 100 best rock- metal singers, because of his different tones of voice when he sings. He has done 5 Albums as a soloist, 2 with Buckethead and 5 with the band. Apart from that he has written 2 poem books and played the music of a Jhon Woos videogame.
