India's total installed electricity generation capacity as of March 2012 was 1,998,877 MW, with thermal sources accounting for 56% of capacity and renewable energy sources accounting for 12.3% of capacity. 2. The target for capacity addition in the 11th five-year plan period was 78,700 MW, with 75.8% to come from thermal sources and 19.9% from hydro. The achievement for capacity addition in 2011-2012 was 17,601 MW. 3. All India annual per capita electricity consumption increased from 592 kWh in 2003-2004 to 813 kWh in 2010-2011.
