Our Goal...
The goal of the One by One Leadership Foundation Mentoring Program is to match 225 youth and mentors in relationships within the next three years that satises in the needs of youth for a caring adult in their lives, provides a safe environment for the youth to grow and learn, encourages youth to succeed, links youth with realistic vocational opportunities and provides activities for youth to give back to their communities.

Make a Lasting Impact in the Life of a High School Student

The Mentors Commitment


A One by One Mentor is asked to meet with their student at school one time a week for 30-40 minutes. (The Guidance Counselor will help nd times that work in the mentor and student schedules). In addition, the mentor will be expected to participate in New Mentor Training. Mentors are also encouraged to attend periodic group meetings with other mentors and participate in activities and events held for them throughout the school year to build relationships.

Mentors are regular people like you, and theyre united by one common goal: make the world a better place for children.
What does it mean to be a Mentor?
Mentors come from all walks of life, all economic and educational backgrounds, and all ages. Each mentoring relationship is unique and shaped by the different personalities and interests of the mentor and the student. Mentors are: *Good Listeners *Caring Friends *Condence Builders *Ordinary People *Caring Adults in the life of a child

This is the question most frequently asked by people who are considering becoming a mentor. Some of the most common activities are listed below. Talk Crafts Take a walk Play games Tackle some homework Go shopping Just have FUN!
