How to make Goo-Yuck

What you will need: A plastic cup or ziplock bag 4 tablespoons of cornstarch 2 tablespoons of water a wooden craft stick or spoon Instructions: Combine the cornstarch and the water in the plastic cup or bag. Stir the mixture with a spoon or wooden craft stick. The mixture should appear to be solidifying. If it does not, stir in a bit more cornstarch; then remove the craft stick. When the stick is removed, the substance should appear to be a liquid. But when the mixture is poked, stirred, or handled, it has properties of a solid. Questions to discuss with your child: 1. Pour the mixture from one hand to another, What happens? 2. Poke the mixture with your finger, what happens? 3. Roll the mixture into a ball; then try to hold the ball, what happens? 4. What makes the substance like a liquid? 5. What makes the substance like a solid?
