Grain elevators like this one in Brewster, Kan- A retired manager explained that it took two sas, store grain until freight trains pick it up and minutes to fill one car in a 100 car train. transport it to processing plants.

The Prairie Museum in Colby, Kansas, contains historic buildings that have been moved to the site. The only thing missing in this old school is the ink in the inkwells.

This abandoned school in Levant, Kansas, was fenced off because of its dangerous condition. Goats wandered over the grounds and ate the grass. The bottom photos show the abandoned school in Edson, Kansas. One was found was in Ruleton, Kansas, too.

Given that asbestos was used in these old buildings, one wonders about the amount that is airborne and the direct hazards to humans and animals from breathing and ingesting. Another concern is the asbestos that is blown onto crop lands.
