Supreme Court Cases; Roe vs Wade Sally Paquette October 18, 2011 American Government

It was the early 1970s when womans sexual rights had just begun being acknowledged. The law that banned birth control was just appealed, and abortion was only legal, on medical advice for the purpose of saving the life of the mother. Jane Roe was a pregnant female resident from Texas, who had been raped by troublemakers at a carnival where she worked. When she awoke in the alley she had been raped in she returned to her motel where her and her friends stayed while in that town, everything had been taken. There was no sign of her friends, her stuff, or their stuff. Roughly a few months after that, she finds out she is pregnant. Texas law had the traditional conservative abortion law stated previously. Roe was denied the right to an abortion in her home state. In return, she fought against the D.A (Wade), saying the abortion law violated the 1st, 4th, 5th, 14th amendments. With the state staying stubborn with her case, she got an appeal to the Supreme Court.
